Grumble... I just got the PBMPlus archive from ab20. I have some ILBM-24 bit files that I want to mess with. Now then, I tried using ilbmtoppm on a 24 bit file from DCTV. ilbmtoppm complains that there are too many bit planes and I should try to recompile with a larger 'pixval'. Fine. I don't have the sources... Does anyone have a version of 'ilbmtoppm' that works with ILBM24 files from DCTV that they'd be willing to send me? A pointer to an anon ftp site that has one? A pointer to Amiga sources? Anything? (Someone was also suggesting a program called 'xv' for doing 24->8bit gif conversions... It's PD, any ideas where I could find it?) Thanks in advance for any help. I'm still new to the Amiga, but it certainly is more of a pain in the ass than I was hoping... (I'm originally a Mac/ST/PC/ X11 type person... hence all the confusion... :-) -Clay ##################===============------------===============################## Clayton Cowgill cowgilc@prism.cs.orst.edu Head Consultant Lab: (503) 737-2435 Oregon State University CS Dept. To avoid this, I plan on including the pertinent library routines into ilbmtoppm.c so that it will compile and run all on its own. You will have to wait for this though because I leave for a week long vacation today. When I get back I'll whip it out. >(Someone was also suggesting a program called 'xv' for doing 24->8bit gif >conversions... It's PD, any ideas where I could find it?) That was probably me. 'xv' accepts 24bit ppm format files but not IFFs. It does one of the best jobs I have seen for 8bit quantization and supports GIF, PBM, PPM, PGM, X11 bitmap, and a couple others. It is available on EXPORT.LCS.MIT.EDU (18.30.0.238) as /contrib/xv.pl3.tar.Z. >Thanks in advance for any help.
