THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONSES !!!!!
I have kept all the mail I have received from all you interested in an
inexpensive MIDI interface. I also appreciate the ideas that some of you
people shared with me. I plan on implementing most of the ideas in order
to come up with a _better_ (<$30)cheap interface. One thing that I would like
to say though is that this will be a quality interface (Printed circuit board,
serial passthru, etc.). I realize that there are tons of designs out there
in the public domain that can be used by anyone. I welcome anyone with any
hardware experience to take a shot at building one. I would just like to
know how many people are interested in getting a nice little kit with all
the parts (with PCB) and diagrams included (or assembled) instead of having to
go out and look for parts and deal with running wires all over a piece of
perfboard.
Again, I appreciate all the responses and ideas. I'm working on it so I'll keep
everyone updated. If any new people are interested drop me an email.
