Hi People... Well, first I'd like to apologize to all you people who have been waiting for Trackplay since I announced it, and to those who've been waiting for the beta I announced about one month ago. Sorry to keep you waiting, but I've been real busy at work, was on a business trip for a week, etc and all that jazz. Anyway, I have Trackplay ready for beta now. Now all I have to do is write up some quick docs and a readme, and I HOPE to have it up on ab20.larc.nasa.gov by this weekend (it's the Wed 22nd of Feb today). You guys will actually benifit from the wait a bit, since I was able to track down two ornery ST/NT module loader bugs. So I can once again say that I havn't met a ST/NT module that I can't load yet. I suppose it's safe to say I can load about 99% of the ST/NT modules out there now. (I hope I didn't just jinx myself!) The beta will be two versions: One which uses a CIA A timer and one which uses a CIA B timer. People using A-500s/A-1000s and unaccelerated A-2000s running KS 1.3 will probably want to use the CIA A version, since the CIA B version steals time from the serial port and causing it to drop characters at 19.2Kbps and up. A3000 users will have to use the CIA B version, since you can't use CIA A timers on the 3000. I didn't notice any character dropping on the 3000 I tested on, even at 38.4Kbps. Of course, people who have serial cards don't have to worry about character dropping... This timer problem is one of the reasons I'm calling it a beta release. I'm working on another scheme which will hopefully solve the problem, and eliminate the need for two versions. More info in the readme, as soon as I write it :-).
