Well, Right now, I have been ripping modules for a while... And, from what I know.. Soundmon, and Future Composer are both totally synth. (Like you couldn't guess, eh?) So, *I* have tried to play these modules on every kind of player there is, (That I know of...) Noiseplayer (old) Noiseplayer (new) Triplay (old) Ultra-Player, etc etc etc... And I have come to this conclusion, the problem is NOT with the module format, in a way. I think that when you RIP the mod, there is a problem, not when playing it. If you have ever ripped a Soundmon or Future composer module with Multi-Ripper, you will notice that the instrument names are either 'EMPTY' or 'ST-00:blahblah' or somthing garbled... So, in fact the module players are FINE, it's the module itself... Hrm, I'm not making sense.. Anyway, try ripping 'THETHINKINGMAN' from the Taipan demo, and try that. For *ME* it sounds fine, but when I try to rip 'THE WALL', it gets messed up, and sounds like ****. I have a BUNCH of alternative module rippers besides Multiripper. So, if anyone would like me to upload them to Ab20 for all to dload... Also, I now have a collection of 179+ modules, and am looking for more, I have every thing from Ab20, and am looking for more, so if anyone knows of any alternative demo FTP points, or alternative noisetracker/soundtracker/sound monitor/future composer module FTP points, I would be MOST greatfull!!! Also, I was wondering, *WHY* is it that every module for MED (That wasn't writen by the guy who wrote it) is horrible? I mean, every module I have heard is an ear sore!! And, why cannot American's write music like Euro-d00ds? I know that there is some good talent out there, and I know that there is a COUPLE American's who write good music, but I mean.. Really. Get with it folx. I also can't believe that Soundtracker1.0 has been in the states for more than 2 years, yet only semi-recently everyone has started to eckowledge it's existance?!?! Also... Commercial busineses have started using modules! *rahh!* About time.. Mindescape and Bullfrog (I think..) are now using modules. I ripped a module from Mindscape's "Harley Davidson" game (Which was a ST, 31 int, old module) butt still a module! I hope sooner or later Amiga standard music will change from that cruddy DMCS/Sonix type to either, Med or Octamed.. The Amiga can put out great music, so why don't people take advantage of that? Just rambling on and on.. Floyd@cscihp.ecst.csuchico.edu

I'd appreciate it if you'd put some more rippers up at ab20. Has anyone had trouble with ProTracker1.1a? It regularily locks up my machine after about 15 minutes of use. Is this a reminder to pay shareware fees or what? Does ProTracker1.1b fix this? Mark Brezina

The screen would blank out on me. Try poping the disk out of the disk drive, then putting it back it. Seems to work for me. Paul Mrozowski pm501s913@sycom.UUCP

I just happened to be running qmouse which automatically blanks the screen after 10 minutes of no intuition messages. I thought ProTracker had crashed, but really it was qmouse doing its job. The only message ProTracker doesn't intercept is the diskchange message. Hence sticking in a disk unblanks the screen. Mark Brezina
