What I would like to see would be a new sound board for the Amiga, something much like a Roland MT-32 (now sadly not being produced, I'm told) on a board. The board would probably run about $300, given the cost of the MT-32 and the lack of a case (optional case and power supply for the A500...). Having 8 (or 16...) more voices, with much better sound would be fantastic, and since it would be an Amiga specific product, developers could write music to use it with some assurance that instrument #44 is a slap bass, and not ice bells. Amiga sound, nice though it is, really needs this kind of boost. Comments?

We have a proposal we are working on for a board, somewhat more sophisticated than your idea, but similar in concept. It would be more sophisticated, but a little more expensive, than your idea. It would be developed using existing synth technologies, though. We'll know more about whether we will be able to work on the idea in a few weeks when we get a reply from the chip suppliers.
