I am new to this area. I bought YAMAHA SY22, Bars&Pipes Pro, and downloaded bunch of PD midi utilities. I am amazed by it. I enjoy playing with it so much I am not getting enough sleep these days. I can't wait to combine my 3D animations with the sounds to match. I started to write a voice library and patch editor for SY22 in CanDo. So far, I can up/download all voices (together and individual), list their names, and store them on my Amiga in an organized way (no need to buy those DATA CARDs). Now, I am working on the patch editor part of it. The SY22 manual explains the sys exclusive commands to transfer voice information, but it does not explain the format of the voice data itself. I hex dumped it and figured out a few things such as the voice name (which I extract for the voice library). I called YAMAHA tech support. They say that the service manual does not include that information either. I ordered the TG33 manual since it is very similar to SY22, and its manual contains more information on the voice data. I haven't received it yet. In the mean time, I decided to post this message to see if anyone out there can help me on this. Thanks in advance.
