[comp.sys.amiga.applications] Superbase Professional

es1@cunixb.cc.columbia.edu (Ethan Solomita) (01/29/91)

I just bought dbMAN and SBPro used from someone. The
dbMAN is version 2.03 compared to current 5.3, i.e. $135. 8-)
Now I'm hoping things aren't as bad on the SBPro side. I have
version 2.03. How far back am I? What has changed?
Also, I called information in TX and got their number,
but there was no answer. Are they still operating in Texas? Is it
just a mailbox without a human? I'd rather not call England
unless I have to, especially cause of the hours.

Why do the Reagans always fly together?

Because if they flew separately, and one crashed, the other would
have to talk to the children.

Ethan,
I just bought SuperBase Pro 6 weeks ago ...

        current version: 3.01
        Texas number is: (214) 929-4888
I got good service from them at that number
There is a no dongle version of SB3 (3.01) avail
for a $10.00 fee to registered owners.

        Hope this helps ....

Also, I believe that the currently released version is 3.02 (mostly bug fixes
from 3.01). The version has been out for at least a year. I understand,
though, that they are planning to release SBPro 4 for the Amiga in the near
future (I think its just awaiting general release of AmigaDOS 2.0). This will
bring it in line with their MS-DOS product and add things like a network
interface (can you say client/server?). On CI$, they're recommending holding
off getting any upgrades until SBPro 4 since its so close.
