The release now consists of 8 floppy disks. The primary changes are: All MIT R4 fonts are included (3 packed disks of them) A new X.demos disk created for the miscellaneous demos that aren't really necessary for X11 system A new disk for the pbm utilities. The rest of the disks are about the same. There have been several other changes, bug fixes, etc. from 3.0 to 3.1 o R4 fonts are standard o More pbm (portable bitmap) utilities included o fixed bug in ifftopbm o fixed bug in screen saver. o Nasty GURU bugs in the original MIT arc code patched over. o Better checking for stack overflow for some operations that required lots of stack. o new demos: xeyes and maze added to release o Updated the following to R4: . xdpyinfo . xkill . xlsfonts . xlswins . xmag . xsetroot . xwd . xwud o R4 bitmaps are standard o A new installation script install.small to leave out the 100dpi fonts and the demos. (saves 5 mbytes) New Xamiga command line options: -tcpip request tcpip connections. -decnet request decnet connections. -productivity 640x480 NONinterlaced screen. Requires ECS chips and AmigaDos V1.4 software The tcpip is provided by the Ameristar 3.0 software. the decnet is provided by Syndesis. Syndesis' DECnet supports both ethernet and serial connections. Runs reliably up to 9600 baud with standard 68000 based amiga. Higher speeds if a faster processor is used. Complete installation requires 11mbytes mass storage. (5 mbytes of fonts) Availability. We are now up to 3.3, here is a little information for those that are interested. Warning! this could be construed a commercial in nature since all the following are our products. Full color support up to 32 colors out of 4096 Resolutions up to 1008x1024, independant of display modes. Support productivity, interlaced, overscan displays. Concurrent support for TSSnet (DECnet) AS225 (tcp/ip) and SANA-ipc (local domain) connections. Clients, fonts, bitmaps are all X11R4 based. xlib/toolkit/programmers option: Complete X11R4 set of libraries, toolkits, widgets, include files, sample source for the porting and writing X11 applications for AmigaDOS.
