[comp.sys.amiga.applications] ProDraw 2.0 and PostScript output

cseaman@sequent.UUCP (Chris "The Bartman" Seaman) (03/30/91)

I've been having some difficulty creating PostScript output from Pro Draw 2.0.
I have created some drawings which use several shades of gray. When printed
directly to my DeskJet from Pro Draw, they look fine, but when output to a
PostScript file, I can only get one halftone.

I tried various combinations, including color PS, activating UCR/GCR, and
many others, but still no luck. Is there no way to generate multiple 'shades'
in PS from Pro Draw?

BTW, I have tried printing the PS files to my DeskJet using Post (1.5), as
well as to the Apple LaserWriter at work. The results have been identical.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Chris,
Have you altered the "Density" setting in the "ouput postscript"
requester?
Keep that setting at about 60 to get all the right grey scales. Higher
numbers are good for higher desity printers but for 300 dpi I find 60 to have
the best results.

------
I read someone was having trouble with PPagev2.0. They tried to install
the program and then run the program and it was crashing etc.
Sorry, I lost the message, but to try and help that person.
It seems that Gold Disk install script relies on us (the users) on
using Commodore's commands in the "c:" directory. If you have the arp commands
installed then the install script from Gold Disk will choke. I installed PPage
and PDraw by coping the files using an utility master type program.
So if you have the arp commands and install the program all the files
will NOT get transferred, and when you try and run the program it will not have
the other files it needs.
