And what about the 2000, 2500 and the 3000T ? :) (Plus by the time the product

Great, but why hasn't anybody come out with a THREAD SELECTOR for
BBS's like the ones available through trn and nn? That'd be a good
idea, wouldn't it? Why not consider it?

Count me in for this BBS. Sounds really great. Shareware too? Or
Commercial? How about Fidonet and/or UUCP support too? Just a thought.

Yep. And change statistics such as access and security real-time so they
dont have to wait in a 'hold' while you make changes..

My mistake, of course the 2000,2500,and 3000T... A4000? dunno...

Oooops.. forgot to mention threading.. Yes, message threading would
be a must.. with commands to skip to next, prev, as well as next message
in order..

I would LOVE to see a way to kill threads that are boring or to mark messages
in a thread as read when you go through the whole thread like on RN. I havent
seen any BBS programs that are similar to this.

I would like to see UseNet interfaces availablke in a shareware BBS. Most BBS
software only leaves you dreaming of such a thing, or costs an arm and a leg. I would like to see a reasonably priced piece of software that allowed UseNet,
say thru an interface to Matt Dillon's UUCP software. (Say 50-75 dollars).

Yes, good point. You see, we here have a PC-based BBS, and I asked the
programmer to add this feature and it turned out to be very easy to
implement. I love it.

Actually, under trn, I don't even bother to maintain a "kill" file.
It's much faster for me to just select what I want to read rather than let
the computer search through the group for me. (I'm on a slow host). This
is what trn does.... it presents me with a menu like this:

******** 8 unread articles in comp.sys.amiga.applications--read now? [+ynq]

[screen clears]
comp.sys.amiga.applications 8 articles

a+Peter Kittel GER 1 >New BBS?
b ray.c.jender 2 >need driver for Epson ES 300C scanner
  Harv Laser
c Michael Mounier 1 >HD backup utilities?
d Robert A. Little 1 D-Net 2.10
e Charles Davis 1 Excellence! or Pen Pal with Pro Page 1.3
f JOHN ROSNOW 1 Sound Program
g+LORETI, Maurizio 1 ProVector

-- Select threads -- All [Z>] --

...as is denoted by the "+" signs, I selected the threads I wanted to
read by pushing the keys "a" and "g". (I have VT100 emulation). I see
nothing more of the other threads. As a result, I can go through
newsgroups VERY quickly. I can tell at a glance what to read and what
not to read, instead of having to read the five+ line header of EACH
unread article, as is done under rn. I figure I save at LEAST half of
my time using trn rather than using rn.

I would LOVE to have a menu-like thread selector on my local BBS.
