[comp.sys.amiga.applications] Statistics ....

paul@ersys.edmonton.ab.ca (Paul Wolodko) (06/07/91)

I'm looking for a package/software a friend can use on the
Amiga which allows her to do phys. lab plots. She's trying to cut
down the time she's spending on those graphs ... she isn't
looking for any high level stat. functions, just figures the best
fit curve ... max/min/best fit linear lines too I suppose; but
nothing viciously technical. I don't see anything really tough,
except the actual stats. stuff, but there is probably something
out there already (he says hopefully); but I don't really have
the time to figure it out (life is complex). Anyway, any suggestions
or know of any packages? (Thanks)

Try Multiplot at the NASA archive. It does 2-D plots with labeling
output to HPGL, postscript, and preferences.

Try Multiplot XLNd on FF-467.

There is a company called Lionhart Press that sells lots of professional
business and stats program for the amiga. Try calling them at
(514)933-4918, or FAX at (514) 939-3087

I also had this problem, so I wrote my own plotting program. It does
2d plots (postscript output or amig agraphic preview), it does Chi
Squared polynomial fits, it has column math with ERROR PROPAGATION (a
really BIG time saver when it comes to doing labs). I have been
planning to release it as shareware fairly soon... If you would like I
could send you a copy.
