What does the wisdom of the net recommend for an Amiga Database program and a Spreadsheet program? This would be run on an unaccelerated A500 running AmigaDOS 1.3. I don't mind paying a reasonable sum of money for a quality product. Database Requirements: AREXX interface. Not consume all CPU time when doing nothing (like the ancient version of Superbase Personal that I have now). Not write ^Ms into reports on disk (like the ... ditto ...). Customizable data entry forms and reports. Database Wishlist: Ability to use network model as well as relational. Spreadsheet Requirements: AREXX interface. Produce graphs. Can handle sheets up to at least 60 X 60 cells. Spreadsheet Wishlist: Can handle time calculations. For example "B14+WEEK(1)". Or items which happen on the Xth day of every month. Generic requirements: Hard-drive installable. Does not require floppy inserted to run. Does not require a dongle. Since these things are likely to be started by AREXX when I'm not even at home, I can't think of ANY form of copy protection which would be acceptable. Can handle interlaced and morerows'ed screens (or opens its own). Intended uses: Personal budget (wow, there's a surprise, eh?). Maintenance of database of AD&D characters. File catalog for every file I see on the local BBSes. Assessment of charges to others for use of my online connections. Any other clever things I can think of. So, who has an opinion? :-) I remember Amiga World had a review of databases quite a few months back, and I'll look into that as soon as I find it. Does anyone know of such an issue which reviews spreadsheets? (If so, please give date issued). -------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeff Van Epps uunet!amusing!lordbah lordbah@Bah.Rochester.NY.US
