I am not yet sure of memory requirements but 1.5 meg should do fine. Here are some other requirements: A stack size of 40000 will ensure there are no stack problems. The screens that are opened are 640 width by 400. The program uses Commodore's Courier 13 point font. This is the best size I could find to accomodate a 80 character message with a scroll bar. This limitation may be removed in the future, but for now it is hard coded in. Also, as a means of making this pre-release version slightly cripleware, and due to my general laziness, the mailer allows only up to 50 mail messages, 10 sysaliases, and 100 aliases. This will be improved in a later version. For now, if you attempt to read a mailbox with more than 50 messages you may visit our old friend "the guru"... Recursive aliases will be found, but no action to remedy the situation will happen. (like removing the alias!) This distribution lacks source code. There will, most likely, be a release of the source. That is, when I think it is ready for release. (when comments are added and some things are cleared up) When this is done, I hope to submit the code to comp.sources.amiga and comp.binaries.amiga as well as the Fred Fish collection. Features I'd like to add (that NEED to be added): - Better error handling. - Horizontal Scrolling for long lines in a message Here is a good warning: DON'T LOAD FILES INTO MKM THAT YOU AREN'T SURE ARE MAILBOXES!!!! If it is not a mailbox, MKM will read nothing out of it, and save a blank file over it when it tries to save the mailbox. This can potentially be dangerous! Note: When AMYCRC is run on MKM this is the output: Size: 70124 bytes CRC: DD43 If you are using AMYCRC and don't get this CRC then something is wrong. I don't have any of the other CRC programs, sorry... So try out MKM and let me know what you think. PLEASE send any comments or bug reports to... Snail Mail: Gavin Stark P.O.
