[comp.sys.amiga.advocacy] WHERE THE HELL ARETHE 2.0 ROMS FOR THE 2000 AND 500? Mars???

jeremym@brahms.udel.edu (Jeremy A Moskowitz) (02/07/91)

Does anyone on this earth, especially some of the cool
commodore people on the board (ie: haynie and others)
KNOW where and when the 2.0 ROMS are coming out for the
2000 or 500? I mean... what are they... 5 years overdue?

Just kidding. What is it? A year already... yeesh!

C'mon...

Why doesn't everybody remember to pick up their brains when
they wake up in the morning ? Well, there was one good point
in this article: It was posted to comp.sys.amiga.advocacy...

The ROMs will come out when the OS is bug-free. Got it ?
As long as developers keep on sending bug-reports, the ROMs
will be delayed. (Aren't we nasty ? We do it on purpose !!)

I am impressed that Commodore keeps on debugging. When the
ROMs come out, they will be really clean.

Where are the 2.0 ROMs? Simple -- I have them. All of them. I've
had them since CBM started making them 4 years ago. Yes, it's true: 2.0
has been finished for FOUR YEARS. Developers have been shipped old versions
(cleverly named things like "2.04") to throw you off the track.

Why is Commodore lying to you? Because they HATE THEIR CUSTOMERS.
In fact, every morning at precisely 9:00am, all CBM employees stand at
attention and perform "Customer Hate" exercises, such as tearing up
warrantee cards and flinging live weasels through plate-glass windows.
Nobody is really sure what the weasels are for, but it somehow sets the mood
JUUUUST right.

But I have decided to violate my non-disclosure agreement (shhhh) to
tell you these important facts. Hell, here's another fact: 2.0 will NEVER
be available for the Amiga 400. What? You didn't even know there was going
to be an Amiga 400? It's got an 6800 CPU, 1 KB RAM, 50 KB external hard
drive, 4,618,911 joystick ports (perfect for playing the latest version of
BLAZEMONGER), and a new technological breakthrough: "reinterlaced" video,
for people who own 2 VCR's.

	Now, don't you feel better?

                                                        Dan

yea, where is the new copy of BLAZEMONGER anyway, my copy (version .0009)
gurued after I completed the first level, 40 seconds of pure excitement, and
to top it all off, I can out with a POSITIVE score of 4!!!!!! I think
this is a new record, (call Guiness) I think this was do infact to
the absence of the Cray-Ymp board ($19.95 from REALLY creative computing)
from my system, There seems to be lack of CrayY-mp roms...

Hardly a year. The A3000, which was the first (and currently only) machine to
commercially ship with 2.00 was released in mid-June. As I recall, early
estimates on the part of the software folks said "not before the fall" for
2.0 in ROM. That doesn't mean they planned to necessarily ship it in the fall,
only that they didn't plan to ship it in the summer. "Late" means that a
product is shipped some time after a publically and officially announced ship
date, not when you first hear about it, or other such dates.

As far as 2.0 in ROM, these guys are working hard at it. And you should be
glad; every day you wait makes it that much more bug free and compatible with
1.3...

     I just wish that BLAZEMONGER worked on my 68010. :-( :-( :-( :-)

Sorry, you are out of luck. BLAZEMONGER does not run on the 68010
unless you have an Amiga ATTACHED. Maybe you should not have been so
CHEAP, and actually bought the REST of the computer too.
