[comp.sys.amiga.advocacy] How should Commodore be spending its money?

jonabbey@cs.utexas.edu (Jonathan David Abbey) (03/24/91)

Actually, it wouldn't bother me over much if Commodore hadn't increased its
research and development to go along with its new found sales revenue..

Provided that they do get around to increasing it if the good times keep
on rolling, and that they *do* spend all the pennies they save on R&D at the
moment in trying to get CDTV established.. fast. Certainly I wouldn't want
to see Commodore delay any new models or technical neat things, and it would
even be great if they set aside a little something toward the day when we
all have flat-panel modular wall computers, with two-way video/voice i/o,
and all the other good things we will have in the next life. But for now,
they would seem to have some pressing concerns in marketing ("No!" "Yes.",
nodded the guru), and money spent there would probably have the best return
in both the immediate and mid-term. That's assuming that CDTV has a chance
against the CD-I legion arrayed against it, of course.

Don't get me wrong, I can't say what will have the best outcome for Commodore,
I just call them as I see them.

BTW, I kind of thought that posting in .advocacy conferred the same benefits
to the iconclasts as those warning labels do for the tobacco companies. This
newsgroup was tailor made for such postings as -MB- made, eh?
