But for some this was not an acceptable alternative; so why should they accept it from SUN. NeXT has not said "We will not offer upgrade to slab owners when something new has arrived." My NeXT was upgraded by trading in the '030 board for an '040 board. Trade in on a complete machine I don't think qualifies as upgrade because they give you almost nothing for it.
