AHH, BUT: how many of those 33 lines were just blanks lines? a blank line is NOT 80 x octal 040, but (1 x octal 012 + 1x octal 015). so, 33 lines could be as little as 66 chars. show me a count of characters, and i'll bet that percentage goes up to more than 4 percent!!
