[comp.sys.amiga.advocacy] A500 Ram problem with EXP800 by Pacific peripherals

wangf@athena.ecs.csus.edu (Out of Mind) (06/19/91)

I took a A500 to have the fatter aguns (1meg) enabled. An I had a
baseboard ram expander which holds up to 4 megs installed at the time.
They told me they ran into problem configuring the ram, Then after the
techs finished messing with the A500 it worked fine. (non autoconfige)
now when I bought the EXP8000 and installed it, I pluged in the A501 and
the computer did nothing but guru. When I unpluged the A501 it worked
fine expect that now, I have no clock and only 512K of chip ram.. The
EXP8000 is Autoconfigue..Is there a way to get this to work with the
A501 or do I have to disable the fatter Agnus? Please Help..
Send messages to me at wangf@ecs.csus.edu....Thanks alot :)

I have an A500 with 1.3 ROM, 1 meg fatter Agnus, A501 expansion, and the
Exp-8000+ memory board with 4 megs of RAM. I have had no trouble at all with
this configuration. It has worked fantastic !!

Suggestions:

1- Make sure your 68000 chip is plugged in appropriately.
2- Make sure the EXP-8000 board is set to handle 4 megs of memory.
3- The memory must be placed on the correct row(s) in the board.
4- Call PPS for further assistance at 303-825-2943.
