I would highly recommend BJS Electronics in Santa Clara, California.
Back in August when Kreuger was trying to sell me used page-mode 256Kx4
80ns ZIPs for $6+, I got new, static-column mode 256Kx4 80ns ZIPs for $8
from BJS. They're primarily mail-order, although they handle walk-in
customers as well.

I just called them this morning re. the price of 1Mbx4 80ns s-c ZIPs. The
person I talked to gave me a price of $38/ZIP for a quantity of 16 (not
including shipping); alert readers will note that this is fairly close
to the $/Mb level of the 256Kx4's I got last August...seems the prices of
these chips are finally getting reasonable. I didn't check the 256Kx4
prices.

BJS's phone number is 408-748-9762.

Hmmm, I'm not sure they make ram that slow... ;-)

Thanks for the tip! I called them this morning and I now have
4 megabytes coming my way at the current price of $5.75/chip!
(514258's)

That's 41% of what my local Amiga dealer wants (uninstalled)!!!

Does anyone know if Commodore will be bundling the 1Mx4 chips in with
the UNIX upgrade package when it comes out? And/or big SCSI drives
for that matter?

So.... With the way RAM prices are changing all the time, where is
the best place to buy RAM nowadays? Specifically, I want to know
    about:

      4 x 256K 80 ms static column ZIP's, and
      4 x 1 meg 80 ms static column ZIP's.

I recently purchased 1M x 4 80ns ZIP's (Hitachi HM514402) for $35 each
from:

    AMT International
    2393 Qume Drive
    San Jose, CA 95131
    Phone: 408-432-1790
    FAX: 408-944-9801

Still rather expensive when compared to SIMM's.
