[comp.sys.amiga.marketplace] ME WANT TOO: a 105 HD for ~300-350 ~15ms, high throughput

ddyer@hubcap.clemson.edu (Doug Dyer) (02/24/91)

I am looking for an internal 3.5" SCSI hard drive >= 105 megs with good
throughput and good access time.

I am willing to pay nothing :) to ~300-350 dollars. Used or new as long
as it is in good shape.

Bye,
Doug

You might trying IME Computers in Boston. Unfortunately I don't have the
number here but they advertise regularly in PC Week and Byte. I tried to
buy a Maxtor from them last year, and though they were out of stock of the
model I wanted and eventually determined they would not get any more, I
was pleased with the way they handled it - they were quite up front about
NOT having one in house and called me weekly to see if I was willing to
keep waiting. I asked around and got several positive recommendations
from people who'd used them, and no horror stories. Last ad I saw they had
a 3.5" 96 Meg SCSI Maxtor for $299, new with 1 year warranty. I believe
they deal primarily with surplus stock and discontinued models.

I just got a new Quantum 105S internal drive from Warehouse 54 for $364, including
S+H. 1912 W 4th St, Tempe, AZ 85281, (800)955-0054. It's a Mac mailorder firm,
and I had to make a power cable, and drill holes in the mounting plate for the
second drive in the front of my A3000.
