[Cnews evidently barfed on my previous posting of this, and I needed to clear up the terms of the offer anyway...] Can't afford the POWER-UP upgrade? Just want to move up to something more expandable than your A500? Or do you want to use a Toaster? Have I got a deal for you! Upgrade your A500 to an A2000, with goodies! I have the following: A2000, with the 4.3 motherboard, fully upgraded with Fat Agnus and the other changes. 2Meg fully populated (soldered in chips for reliability) memory expansion, for 3Meg total RAM. A2090A SCSI/ST-506 disk controller, fully autobooting. Conner CP304 40 Megabyte SCSI hard drive - fast and quiet, VERY reliable. And, of course, all of the other goodies that normal Amigas come with, like keyboard and mouse and all of that. To be totally honest, this is a well-used unit (it's been used to develop the Amiga versions of several games, and other use throughout the years), but is still rock-solid and dependable. The only component that's giving me any problem is the mouse, which is showing its age with (very) occasional flakiness - but if you trade your A500, just keep your own mouse! The deal: I will trade my A2000 for your A500 plus $1000 cash. Or, you can buy the A2000 directly for $1500. I would prefer a 1M chip A500, and one with 1M RAM already installed (A501) would be nice, but I don't really care about that. You keep your monitor and mouse (my mouse is, sad to say, getting a little on the flaky side, although it works well right now). Act now, and I'll throw in a Radio Shack small stereo amplifier which I use for audio output. NOTE: The reason I'm doing this is because I need the cash. Therefore, I am not interested in trading for a more fully-equipped A500, with hard drives or things like that - unless, of course, you're willing to part with it for an A2000 + $1000 :-) I would also prefer to make the deal with someone local, but am willing to work out a long-distance deal if necessary (I've kept the original shipping boxes, so shipping shouldn't be a problem). If you're interested, send me email, or call me directly at (415)547-6933.
