[comp.sys.amiga.emulations] Mac emulators

burley@geech.ai.mit.edu (Craig Burley) (01/09/91)

I've heard some word-of-mouth info on Mac emulators, but would like
to get some more concrete information. If I get something like an
Amiga 3000 with 8MB or thereabouts, how much extra $$ will I have
to spend to get some of my (rather pedestrian) Mac software to run
on it, so I can toss one or both of my Macs? Critical applications
I need to be able to run include MacMoney, and, actually, probably
not much else, though it'd be nice to be able to run Hypercard and
a few other things. (Gaming isn't important.)

Also, any ideas how various Mac emulators would interact with Amiga
UNIX -- i.e. do I just run an application and bingo, Mac windows --
is that how it works under AmigaOS (or whatever it's called)? -- or
do I reboot under a special emulation mode, or something like that?

Respond via definitive posts; unfortunately, I don't really have the
time to post a summary of email responses, so even though I'm
happy to get email, I don't want to prevent others from seeing
useful responses.
