I've been trying to buy Mac ROMs for use in an AMaxxII system for a while now, with no luck. Every mail-order place says they can't get them - it seems Apple did a thorough job of clamping down on grey-market ROMs. So, I dug up the no-ROM hack. For those that aren't aware, some crafty hackers have put the Mac 128k ROM on a disk along with the AMaxx software to form a completely software Macintosh, for free. Illegal as heck, but apparently this is what Apple would rather we did - instead of paying them $150 for their ROMs. Make any commodity illegal, and the market goes underground. Unfortunately, the no-ROM hack doesn't quite work on our 3000. Under 2.0, the Mac comes up with a sick, frowning face. Under 1.3, the Mac looks normal until you give it a disk - then blanks the screen and hangs. I'd be more than happy to do things legally (especially since it now appears to be the only option) if I could just find a place that sold the ROMs. Can anyone help? ---------------- Ben, in San Jose, city of mindless destructive uncaring human sheep.
