[comp.sys.amiga.emulations] IBeM... what's going on?

mikep@hpmwtd.HP.COM (Mike Powell) (03/21/91)

I've got a problem similar to one that others have had with
IBeM.... I'm on an A3000, and have the CrossDos device...

I startup IBeM with a Dos Disk in df0: (IBMA:) and there is
15-20 seconds of disk activity... the screen is black with
a small cursor in the upper left during this.

Then there is a quick flash of text in the upper left (so fast
that I can't read it) and then I'm back in Workbench....

Does the DosType need to be changed in the CrossDos mountlist
as per the IBeM instructions? Or should it be left alone?

	Please help.....

Ok.... I solved my own problem....! for those who might
benefit, the solution was to get rid of the autoconfig.bat
and config.sys files that were on the disk.... there were
some commands in them that caused IBeM to shut down. I
don't know what file(s) or commands caused the problem,
but deleteing or renaming the files allowed IBeM to come
	up just fine.

IBeM is sure slow, but amazing (especially in less than 45K!)

He gets my 30 bucks for sure!

oops.... to avoid any possible confusion... the files I referred
to in my last msg were located on my DOS disk, not the IBeM
	disk... :-)

Any chance of finding out where to get this IBM emulator? I need semething
to just do a bit of Turbo Pascal editing/compiling and a emulator that
costs $30 sounds good to me...
