[comp.sys.amiga.emulations] Success in printing from AMAXII

quang@csufres.csufresno.edu (Quang Ngo) (04/22/91)

For anyone who has been trying to print from Amax to a PostScript laser
printer, here's a simple solution: get a copy of LaserWriter/Laser Prep 6.1
from @apple.com under /pub/dts/sw.license. This version has a PostScript
option so you don't have to press Amiga-K anymore. Use 'dumpfile' to print.

I like to modify the LaserWriter so that it would create the postscript file
and send it to the parallel/serial port instead of saving it in a file.
Let me know if any of you figure this out before I do.

By the way, how do you download fonts to the laser printer using the method
above? The archived file that comes with Laser Prep 6.1 has a printing
utility that does it (I think) but it asks for appletalk :-(. Since AmaxII
doesn't support appletalk, the program is unuseful.
