(Ahem ahem!) OK! Well, this is my first post on UseNet ever... I have no idea what I'm doing... And I'm the sysop! Hehehe. I hope this is in the right area... If not, you get 1 free hit... Here in Hawaii, the state has set up an "information service" with 1000 lines run on a mainframe... Well, my problem is, some of the service works with VT-100, but most of it requires NAPLPS. Anyone have or know of a term program for the Amiga that will emulate NAPLPS? I have never heard of it except for on their system... But they say it's an international standard... But can anyone tell me where I can get a PD emulator, or the address of somewhere to order a commercial emulator would be fine also... Thanks! Whew, took me all day, but I did it! =) -- .____________________________________________________________________________. | _ _ | Sysop of: | | () ) ) _ __ __ | Virtual Reality BBS | | / / / (/ ( ( Buford | UUCP:vrtwo.UUCP | | | 808-337-1560 * 2400 baud * C-Net Amiga | | matt@vrtwo.UUCP | PMRF Barking Sands, Kauai, Hawaii, USA | |__________________________|_________________________________________________|

I'd like to see a NAPLPS implementation on the Amiga, but I don't know of one. NAPLPS is a North American standard with many fuzzy edges. The now-defunct Viewtron communications service worked with VT-100 and NAPLPS (Viewtron offered a C64 implementation). A member of their staff was on the standards committee; he estimated a minimum 1-year development period to implement NAPLPS on the Amiga. It is basically a resolution-independent vector graphics communications protocol. -- ========================================================================== Joe O'Hara || Disclaimer: I didn't say that! Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the NAPLPS standard? :-) --Dave dstuve@prism.cs.orst.edu
