Hello folks: I am having problems. I have a Syquest drive: I have a cartridge which I use on macs at work--it even has a system on it so I boot harddisk-less macs on it. Now I thought of trying to see if A-MAX would recognize it. In DEVS: I created the following mountlist entry, calling it Mountlist.AMAX AMAX0: Device = scsi.device Unit = 3 (I have the SCSI address on the drive set to 3) Flags = 1 Surfaces = 2 Blocks per track = 34 (Got this from Syquest tech info) Reserved = 2 Interleave = 1 (the Ami doesn't accept 0 when I try a mount...) LowCyl = 0; HighCyl = 2548 (tried 1274 also...) Buffers = 10 BuffMemType = 5 In my DEVS: directory I put scsi.amhd (along with all the other .amhd files, just to make sure!) At the CLI I did: Mount AMAX0: from DEVS:Mountlist.AMAX Then I went into a-maxstartup and started up amax. It actually seemed to recognize the existence of the disk (the question mark went away and turned into an x mark) but seemed to think that there was something wrong with the cartridge. This same cartridge works fine on Macintoshes... So what am I not doing? Or doing wrong? Is the mountlist wrong? Syquest got me their Mac expert--of course he didn't know about the Amiga side... but he described the lowcyl and highcyl values and that it has two surfaces... Can anyone help? E-mail would be appreciated. I will summarize responses if there is interest...
