Has anybody heard any word on a possible release date for NComm 2.0? I've read the text files describing new features and I'm anxious to get my hands on it! --=> Brian Cerveny <=-- --=> tnaj2@ccvax.iastate.edu <=--

I haven't set any release date for NComm V2.0 - there is simply to much work left, and I have no idea about when it will be finished. However, another version will probably be released within a few months. This version should fix most bugs. It will contain an improved XPR interface, a better scrollback and a few other facilities. Req.library will be used for most requesters. Maximilian Hantsch (author of TrapDoor) wants to write an ARexx interface for NComm but I don't know when he will finish it. V1.95 should support such an interface. There are currently a few problems with using req.library in NComm. Only a few of the req.library requesters can be signalled, telling them to shut down and close its windows. This is necessary since NComm starts all req.library requesters as seperate processes. Closing the screen while a req.library requester is still active is quite fatal. Some of the req.library requesters look rather ugly in NComm. They don't support a way to change the requester border colors. This means that they pop up with yellow borders and/or backgrounds. I hope a newer version of req.library will fix these problems (and hopefully also contains an improved palette requester, with contrast sliders :-) T.Lodberg
