[comp.sys.amiga.datacomm] Major problems with Handshake 2.20c at 19,200

emcphers@fox.cs.vt.edu (Frank McPherson) (02/27/91)

I've been using Handshake at 19,200 baud for a few weeks now to communicate
with a host system pretty close to here. I'm communicating over digital
lines, so line noise is not a problem.

Everything works fine at 19,200 baud as long as I don't try to
transfer any files using Zmodem. When I do try to use zmodem (sz on a
Decstation 2100 running Ultrix version 4.0, talking to xprzmodem.library,
version 2.10) I get a crash when using Handshake. I'm pretty sure
it's a problem between Handshake and xprzmodem.library, since I have used
the same library under ncomm 1.9, also at 19,200 baud, and downloaded the
file successfully. (An lharc file, which when checked with the t command,
passes just fine)

I also don't think that it's having a buffer overflow problem:
I'm using a 25 Mhz 3000 with 5 megs, and saving the transfer to ram:.
(Actually, I first tried saving it to dh1: When that didn't work, I
tried ram: I then switched to NComm, which successfully transferred the
file to both ram: and dh1:.)

Any help on this would be appreciated,
