What's the easiest way to trnsfer a binary file from an Amiga to an IBM, given that the two machines don't have compatible diskdrives. (i.e. both IBM drives are 5-1/4, both Amiga drives are 3-1/2), which I guess would blow any hopes of using Dos2Dos, eh? :-) What I had in mind was something like both machines running terminal emulators, and transfering files through a null modem cable, by Ymodem or Zmodem protocol, or something like that. Trouble is, I have no idea if this is feasible, and before I go buy a Telecomm package for the IBM, I want to know if this is a pipedream. :-) Or is there a simpler way, and I'm just too telecomm-ignorant to see it? The easiest way to do that when the drives are different is a null modem hookup. You don't need to buy an IBM terminal program, just find a friend with Telix or ProComm or somesuch. A null modem is very easy to make. An alternative, if you want to do this the long way, is to upload files to a common site (your mainframe account) and then have the other computer download it, but if you can do this, just make the null modem!
