Does anyone know of an Amiga port of trn or nn that will run with CNews style UUNEWS: structure (ie. comp.sys.amiga.misc = UUNEWS:comp/sys/amiga/misc)? I'm still in the quest for the perfect news reader. Arn is not really suitable because dir scans take so long and it uses a graphics interface (not AUX:able) While being AUX:able is not totally necessary, it's a consideration that I'd like to keep in mind. I would like FULL rn features (or as many as possible) and a system for following threads (whether by trn methods or '=' rn methods). I still haven't found what I want and I thought I had all the news readers available for CNEWS style news. I hope I don't. *** Please respect the Follow-Up line *** -- Craig Lemon - Kitchener, Ontario. Vn, which was recently posted to comp.binaries.amiga uses Cnews newsgroups. It appears to be an incomplete port of Unix Vnews. Instalation is very strange and involves setting an environment variable and installing a termcap. I don't think it has rn-style kill files. Actually, I don't know of any usable news reader that does. (Barn has kill files but it crashes if you look at it funny) Does anyone know why this is? Is this task THAT difficult? Even a simple subject kill would help a lot. It didn't seem that hard when I cobbled together a newsreader for CMS. Eric Edwards: c506634 @ "The 3090.
