I've got a question about JRComm. Don't know whether it's operator error or
a limitation of the software, so I'm bringing it up here before I bug Jack
about it.
I want JRComm to respond to ANSI (Amiga?) color-change sequences when in 4
color mode. On the two Unix boxes I call I made up custom termcap entries to
substitute color changes for standout and underline modes. (Red and green,
respectively, with normally amber text on a black background. Looks
spiffy!) I've got no problems at all running this in 8 color mode, but
haven't been able to find escape sequences to change colors when I'm only in
4 color mode. Since I don't really need more than four colors I hate to
waste memory (and !SCROLLING SPEED!, yes, it's noticable) with the extra
bitplane.
So, is it operator error on my part? Have I missed something in the terminal
panel? Or is it a limitation of JRComm? (And if it's a limitation... Jack,
you listening? :-)
BTW, in case anyone's keeping count I got my registered copy of JRComm two
weeks ago, only a few days after I got email from Jack saying he hoped to get
it out within a week. Thanks!
