-- First, I think VLT is the best PD VT emulator, but I've always had one gripe with it, that I hope theres a solution to; and that is the Top 4 keys on the keypad only send the PF1-PF4 escape codes when the keypad mode is set to application (not numeric), instead they send just the ()*/ stuff, this causes greif in some applications that need these keys, but still need the keypad in numeric mode. Sometimes you can get by with the pulldown that sets the keypad to application, but some applications key turning it back to numeric. Any solutions? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Steve Drew: drew%cgou11.enet@decwrl.dec.com Phone : 403-295-HELP ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heh, I was wondering how long it would take before someone caught me on that one. You're right, VLT doesn't do that particular VT100 "feature" right. It seemed at the time more useful to allow people to use the keys for the symbols that are on the keycaps in numeric mode, and it didn't occur to me at the time that VT100's don't work that way. Unfortunately, there is no option to change this. Short of changing the system keymap (usa1) to send the VT100 sequences. Which might be okay actually... Or you could use the VLT WEDGE command to intercept all keystrokes and to handle those four yourself. In ARexx, this can be a little slow, but you might write a 30-line C program to do it. By the way: I won't have INTERNET access for the coming four weeks or so, so I won't be answering questions for a while. Don't consider it impoliteness...
