Last week a professor here asked me on very short notice if I could produce color transparencies of certain graphs drawn on the TEK window of VLT by the local VAX. Normally I would have simply told the VAX to output postscript and sent the file to our color postscript device. However, my prof wanted slides of the zoomed images. It isn't easy to tell the VAX to zoom so I figured I could do a zoom, save the bitmap as postscript, upload the postscript, and print it out. Well, a funny thing happened. None of the printers here seem to like VLT's encapsulated postscript. They all return messages about errors in the postscript. They complain about commands like "m" and "bdef". I even tried to view the postcript on a NeXT. While I did get a picture there, even the postscript viewer complained about improper postscript. I'm pretty sure I am doing something wrong, but no one here seems to be able to tell me what. Has any one else had trouble with VLT's postscript? Does anyone know how I can fix my problem? Thanks, Dave drichards@hmcvax.claremont.edu
