Hello, all: I'm using the latest versions of VLT and xprkermit.library to talk to a host system with communication parameters of 7 bits, mark parity, and one stop bit. I run a kermit server on the host system, and I attempt to recieve a file with VLT/xprkermit. I get an 'Invalid Parity' message when I attempt to transfer from the system. I have kermit set to transfer ASCII files, host as server, small packets, basically a lowest-common denominator kermit setup. Even when I disable parity checking in VLT, I cannot transfer files. Some background: I have read and understood the Columbia Kermit protocol manual, and I know kermit can transfer over a 7-bit mark parity link. With my Amiga, the only terminal program I have found that will transfer over a 7M1 link is an ancient version of DBW_VT100 that often locks up for no apparent reason. I have successfully transferred to and from the host system with 7M1 settings with the following other machines: A Mac IIx, two different kinds of Sun workstations, and various PC clones. I have read the xprkermit docs, and I grepped through the xprkermit source to see if the message is emitted from there - I did not find it. I do not yet have the VLT docs (and I'm not interested in the VLT docs if it cannot transfer to and from the machine I use at work). Does anyone know of anything that I've missed? -- | ben@epmooch.UUCP (Ben Mesander) | "Cash is more important than | | ben%servalan.UUCP@uokmax.ecn.uoknor.edu | your mother." - Al Shugart, | | !chinet!uokmax!servalan!epmooch!ben | CEO, Seagate Technologies |
