[comp.sys.amiga.datacomm] Using dsoc in DNet.

dave@cs.arizona.edu (Dave Schaumann) (05/27/91)

Well, the good news is I got DNet working for me (turned out to be a
compiler bug...).

Now, I'm having trouble with dsoc (which is invoked from the Unix side
to provide remote access to the CLI. When I typed "dsoc" in my Unix
window, the following appeared in my AmigaShell window that I launched
DNet from:

DNET RUNNING
Starting Server: dnet:amiga/bin/scli proc 00c63a30 started
newshell failed returncode 20

What does "returncode 20" mean? I typed "newshell" at the prompt, and
I got a new shell window, just like I'm supposed to.

Thanks in advance,

   Thanks in advance,

If you are having ARP:s newshell, it won't work. I (and i think many others
too) have copied newshell of amigados to my c: directory with the name
oldshell and then changed the text newshell to oldshell from file STERM using
NewZAP. if you have DPIPE mounted, but you don't have DPIPE-handler in L:,
the same error message will appear. (we had problems w/ that, even snoopdos
didn't tell us what was a problem)
