[comp.sys.amiga.programmer] amiga-x11 mailing list started

vinsci@nic.funet.fi (Leonard Norrgard) (01/21/91)

Well, the Amiga X11 port project has been started and now there is a
mailing list for it also. Mail X11 related stuff to the list
amiga-x11@nic.funet.fi. One of the objectives is to produce a public
implementation of X for the Amiga as a complement for the commercial
versions/ports available. The list is not limited to this and users
and programmers of commercial X systems are invited as well.

Amiga-X11 is for discussing anything related to using X11 on the
Amiga, including but not limited to: porting X11 servers, porting
clients, optimizing color servers for the Amiga bitplane architecture,
general problems that surface when using X11 software on the Amiga
etc. etc. You get the idea. I suppose the list will be mostly
concerned with the porting of X11 in the initial phase, slowly
shifting over to porting clients and general discussion on X and
various clients.

The list is automatic (hooray! :-) using a mailserver developed for
Funet by Matti Aarnio (at least I think so) mea@nic.funet.fi.
