[comp.sys.amiga.programmer] determined the total amount of chip ram

gksmith@rose.uwaterloo.ca (Gary Smith) (02/07/91)

Sorry to post this again. I was wondering how to determine the total
chip ram and the type of Agnus chip installed (from a c program).
I received replies informing me to use avail. I guess I did not explicitly
state that I wanted to achieve an effect similar to that of avail and
need to called this as a C subroutine.

How does avail know that there is 0.5 or 1.0 megabyte of chip ram.
Is there a way of knowing that I have a 1.0 mega agnus when I only
have 0.5 megabyte of ram ( of any type) in the machine?

Thanks again,
Gary.
