Well, I just posted the following in the ami-sci mail list, but it appears that many people are interested, so here is a repeat (modified slightly): To: ami-sci@uwila.cfht.hawaii.edu Subject: Re: f2c on Amiga f2c's home is research.att.com, they operate a mail server to obtain the f2c software (for UNIX). You can port this version, -or- If you don't want to go it alone, I am (due to great demand) providing a supported version of f2c. I can make available f2c binaries and the modified (for the Amiga) source (for SAS/C v5.10a) for $65. I have spent about 30 hours porting the stuff and although I won't recoup my costs, I feel $65 will fairly cover my distribution costs and the time needed to get things out to you. I will support the package with bug fixes, etc. I have used this version of f2c to port Dungeon (a large multi-source file game) to the Amiga. Email me for more detail as I don't want this message to appear too much like a commercial ad... :-) Also, note once you get source and binary you can do anything you want with it as long as it falls under the guidelines set forth by AT&T and Bellcore, I have added no restrictions, as I believe you should be able to do want you want with software (a.k.a GNU). Although it might be considered immoral to start selling my port as your own, or to upload it to a widely seen commercial service, etc... (A few copies to friends definitely would not bother me in the least). Note, you only get support from me if you get my package... Loren J. Gee, you wouldn't think that an Apple Exec would be so worried about one little Amiga Device... Loren J. Rittle l-rittle@uiuc.edu
