[comp.sys.amiga.programmer] Assign list

                                Help me!!!

I realize that this may be a trivial question for all of you serious C
programmers, but I seem to be encountering difficulty locating much decent
documentation on how to obtain a list of devices from the system. The program
is listed on pages 72-73 of Abacus' "Amiga Disk Drives - Inside & Out", but
unfortunately, I do not own that particular text. Abacus really knew what
they were doing when they wrote those helpful books - if you want to make a
decent file requester, the information is fragmented between at least three
of their books. Great way to sell products, eh? Not too practical for us
"loaded" college students with money spewing out of our pockets.

Anyway, enough griping. If you can help (list a short segment of code),
please do so - I'd love to get a response soon.

Right now, I'm accomplishing this task by "Execute("ASSIGN >t:tmp", 0, 0);"
then reading in the text file "t:tmp". Pretty archaic, and slow.

Sure would appreciate any tricks, tips, suggestions, etc. THANX!!!
