I saw in the latest Amiga World that Creative Computing is selling a product called just 'Lint' for $65. Does anybody know anything about this? Who makes it? Is it ANSI-C compatible? Ross Cunniff Hewlett-Packard Colorado Language Lab cunniff@hpfcso.HP.COM

What they are selling is AmigaLint, made by Gimpel Software, the same people that make PC-Lint. It is ANSI compatible, and does a very good job. There has just been an update to version 4.0, the improvements mostly being new messages and the ability to pick up function prototypes from the header files directly instead of having a special file for each compiler that lists all the machine-specific function prototypes. It supports both Lattice and Manx. GM

I have the latest LINT from Gimplel Software for the Amiga. It's ANSI compatablie, and IMHO much better than the one Sun gives me on my Sparc at work. The latest version is 4.00 (that I know about). Gimple Software 3207 Hogarth Lane Collegeville PA 19426 215/584-4261 (voice) 215/584-4266 (fax) I recommend it highly. Works with Manx & SAS. Easy to tune to your environment. Smarter than I'll ever be. Only problem: slow on an A1000. Enjoy, ******************************************************************* * John W. S.
