OK, This may be a problem which is described frequently, but I searched, and could not find any info on my specific problem. I have an Amiga 500, and I have been having trouble with my battery backed up clock. I am familiar with the ways that out of control programs can screw up my clock, and on occasion I have had to reset the clock after such a wild program stampeded over it, however I have been having another problem which arises quite frequently, namely that my clock will sometimes return a partially correct date and time, but part of it will be wrong. For example, the day of the month, year, and hour may all be correct, but the month will be wrong. Or the date might be right, and the minutes, but the hour could be off. I have tried using setclock reset repeatedly, and I tried a small program which was supposed to fix any clock "virus", however this program returned a message saying that my clock was wrong, but had been corrected. It continued to give this same message every time I ran the program. This memory expansion/clock board is not an Amiga model, but a third party model which has served me well for several years. Could the little battery on the board be going bad? If so, how feasable is it to repair something like that? Where exactly should I look for the clock's registers, and how can I read them? This problem is minor, but very irritating: I rely heavily on the time and date stamping of my files, and I have had problems because of this more than once! Any help will be most appreciated!
