I don't know if you know about Elan Performer, and its MIDI compatability,
but it works great, preloads images and animations, and can be driven by
a MIDI ghost track from a sequencer (Bars + Pipes works great) or direct
from a keyboard for live interactive performances.

The above system works great, but I don't think Elan can surport a laser
disk, or Arexx, and you need two laser disks to be controller.  You may
need to use three computers.
