[comp.sys.amiga.programmer] Drawing into Requesters

plummer@hercules.cs.uregina.ca (Dave Plummer) (05/21/91)

Hate to sound naive, but how does one draw into a requester? Or does
one? Since there is no RPort member of the Requester structure, how
(if you can) do you use simple graphics primitives within a Requester?

Respond via Email, if you can help it. A lot of traffic lately!

After some discussion with Peter Cherna, it seems that the answer is:
don't render into requesters. It is not supported.

Under 1.3 you can use the gadget list, borders, etc to place graphics
into the requester. These are automatically refreshed when necessary.
Under 2.0, requesters may be made simple refresh and a list of
images may be attached directly to the requester. These images along
with all of the previously supported imagery will be refreshed when
necessary.

Beware when using simple refresh requesters--the refresh
events never get through to the application. Use the supported
imagery and let Intuition manage the refresh process.
