[comp.sys.amiga.programmer] Rolling my own

dingebre@imp.es.com (David Ingebretsen) (06/22/91)

OK! I have decided to bite the bullet and write my own printer driver.

The reference material that I have:

RKM Libraries and Autodocs
RKM Devices and Libraries
Amiga Printers Inside and Out
Owners manual for my printer
Various reference books on C and 680X0 assembly language

The printer I am trying to drive is an IBM X24e proprinter compatible.
The Libraries and Devices Manual has several examples, but none specific
to the IBM proprinter series. However, what is there is very helpful. My
problem with this project is not in the coding, rather in the concept of
controlling a graphics printer.

QUESTION:
Would anyone out there suggest any thing that might help reduce the
pain of this task? Any suggestions for reference books, source code, tips, or hints?

Thanks,

David
