[comp.sys.amiga.programmer] Smalltalk for the Amiga?

rmr@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu (Randy M. Roberts) (06/30/91)

Does anybody know of an Amiga version of Smalltalk? I know of a GNU
version of smalltalk, but it doesn't look as if it has an Amiga config
file for it. Has anyone ported GNU-ST to the Amiga? Has anyone
written their own version? I don't care whether it's PD, ShareWear,
or Comercial! Does one exist?

advTHANKSance,
Randy

Serge Simard (<simard@iro.umontreal.ca>) was working on a port of GNU Smalltalk
a while ago, you could try contacting him.

Alternatively, you could do the port yourself. There are very few UNIX system
dependencies, and starting with the Atari ST port should help a bit (such as
setting smaller values for the memory sizing constants in mstoop.c)
