I recently purchased the GVP A3001 Upgrade Kit (68030/25MHz and board) for my Amiga A2000B (Revision 4.4). I had considerable difficulty getting it to work, and finally shipped it back to the distributor, whom claimed it was ok on their 2000. I've heard rumors that no A3001 kit has ever worked on the Revision 4 2000's (please don't let this be true! :-( I would greatly appreciate any advice/comments regarding a fix or in denial/validation of this nasty rumor! I might add, that after taking out the A3001 upgrade, I tried to boot from my system with the following add-ons: 1.3 Chip ROM and Super Fat Agnus with 2MBytes of chip ram, BUT no go, the machine dies after 5 minutes of marginal operation. Clearly, something else besides the GVP board is screwed up, as well. Thank you in advance. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Bob Moghaddam | Center for Excellence in C3I | bmoghad@sitevax.gmu.edu Dept. of Electrical & Computer Engr. | Tel: (703) 764-6283 George Mason University | Fairfax, VA 22030 | --------------------------------------------------------------------

If so, I believe there was a jumper setting for what they called a 'Revision 4.4 german multilayer board' or something. I could be wrong about the exact description, but I'm pretty sure that the rev 4.4 has a special jumper that needs to be shorted. If you have problems with the new one, write me and I'll dig up the info and get the exact jumper. /// Only - Bryan /// AMIGA \\\/// Makes it \XX/ Possible.... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bryan Harpel UUCP: {rugters|uuwest|uunet}!cbmvax!amix!undrground!bryanh INTERNET: undrground!bryanh@amix.commodore.com "You will die by my hand, For it is I who rule the land"
