[comp.sys.amiga.misc] iconify

Is there a program that will iconify another program currently running?
Something I can run and then point at the other programs window and iconify it?

This may not exactly answer your question, but perhaps it will be
useful anyway.

There is an iconfication library by, if I remember correctly, Leo
Shwab (sp?). It works great, and provides true iconification, not just
toggling between two window sizes. There are three methods for
iconification, including using a bitmap you supply, and making an
"animated icon". Its really easy to use from a programming standpoint.

This library works very well. So much so, in fact, that I have always
wished C= would pick it up as a supported part of the OS.

I believe SmartIcon which can be found on Fish Disk #316 will do what
     you want.

It addeds another gadget to the window between the front to back
gadgets. When you click on this gadget it iconifies the window and
places the title in a small window which it opens up. When you want
to un-iconify the window, just kick on the the title in the smarticon
window. I have been using this for several months now and it seems to
     work great.

I've got a nice little program that sticks a new "iconify" gadget inbetween
the "click to front" and "click to back" gadget.

The program is called "SmartIcon", and I've got V2.0 (there may be a later
version, 2.0's at least a year old). It's public domain, and the author
asks a $15 contribution.

I've seen earlier versions on various Fish disks, so if your interested, check
there first...

This sounds suspiciously like you have a disk drive out of alignment.
If the machine is only 3 months old, you should be able to take it
back to the dealer for (free) warrantee repair, since it comes with a
year warrantee. You can also call Commodore Express. They'll pick it
up (free) and fix it. I don't have the number handy.
