Hello. I have developed a problem recently that led me to believe my df0: drive is out of alignment. First the problem: many games (such as Psygnosis') crash on booting on my computer. This only happens with games that contain custom boot blocks. The guru is usually a guru 3, or A, or even just a lock up. The same program works fine on an A2000 with the same memory configuration. I here the drive making a "skidding" noise, and then it gurus or locks up. Also, it is almost impossible for me to save something to disk if I use a 1-bit WB (or even to do a dir) but works fine with a 2-bit WB. So, I am looking for a program PD/Shareware to check the allignment on my computer. I am also looking for suggestions as what else may be wrong. I am tired of taking games back to my dealer, and a bit embarassed that it could very well be my problem, and the games are fine. My system is a minimum A500 w/ 512k expansion and two drives. I am not really into games, but I'd like to get this problem fixed. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Valentin Popescu SnailMail Address: vpopesc@neptune.calstatela.edu P.O.
