I recently bought a used 1010 floppy drive, which seems to have some very peculiar and highly annoying quirks. When I take out a disk from this drive, sometimes it never acknowledges that action, thinking the disk is still in there and displaying a "read/write error in df1:". At other times, taking out the disk results in a crash if I try to access any drive. (I can still move the pointer, etc., but the machine will not execute any programs or instructions.) Is the drive too used or can I do something to fix this? Thanks for any help--this problem is getting more and more annoying each time I have to reboot. (My system is an A500 w/ 1 MB...no unusual or strange hardware attachments.) Mariusz Jakubowski mjakubow@drunivac.bitt
